東北大学及び海洋研究開発機構（以下JAMSTEC）によるアライアンス型WPI拠点である変動海洋エコシステム高等研究所(WPI-AIMEC)では、分野融合研究や国際共同研究を通じて「海洋生態系変動メカニズムの解明と予測」を実現し、持続可能な海洋・地球環境と人間社会の実現に向けた惑星スチュワードシップへの貢献を目指しています。
Advanced Institute for Marine Ecosystem Change (WPI-AIMEC), an alliance-type WPI research center jointly established by Tohoku University and JAMSTEC, aims to elucidate the response and adaptation mechanisms of marine ecosystems to environmental changes, and to realize their predictions through interdisciplinary and international collaborative research.
Through these efforts, WPI-AIMEC contributes to planetary stewardship aimed at regenerating and restoring oceans and ecosystems toward the realization of a sustainable global environment and human society
