1 【POSITION PURPOSE】

Under the leadership of Japan VP/General Manager, this role will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategy and initiatives for HOKA brand in Japan. In addition to tailoring marketing and communication strategies, this role will be also accountable for brand image development, PR, promotion, sport marketing activities, partnering with business partners for joint program and initiatives, and liaison with media channels and principals. All marketing plans/activities are to be reflective of the HOKA brand global strategy and approved by the Deckers Japan management team.
2 【ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS】

Strategic Planning & Execution(40%)


◇Provide annual/seasonal HOKA marketing strategy focusing on 3-5 years plan
◇Liaise with Deckers Japan management team and functional experts of local and global teams to market the brand in order to continuously improve brand equity and market share as well as identify and deliver brand differentiation based on a full understanding of the consumer needs and brand marketplace
◇Take full accountability for PR/marketing/advertising/sport marketing plans & activities of HOKA in Japan to increase brand awareness and strengthen its positioning. Ensure timely planning, preparation, coordination, and approvals of all Japan events.
◇Develop the process and drive the improvement of regional marketing operations

Division Management (30%)


◇Ensure customer centric culture where the primary drive is customer experience engendering customer loyalty
◇Present the brand that in-lines with the global standards and policies, as well as position HOKA brand in Japan market
◇Leverage market data to make recommendations which will support continuous growth and success of the brand
◇Work with the global brand marketing team to get full alignment on seasonal marketing strategy and execution plan to achieve brand goals
◇Work with sales, retail, merchandising, e-Commerce and other internal teams to ensure that seasonal marketing packages for Japan market are appropriate, completed and communicated effectively both internally and externally
◇Lead the brand from marketing perspective to identify and recommend potential areas for brand investment with the goal of driving brand awareness and sales, above and beyond local activities
Identify potential products and other collaborations which align with the brand strategy as well as make recommendations to the regional management for review and approval
◇Partner with eCommerce team to drive digital communication through the media where eCommerce team currently manages
◇Lead the team to support seasonal sales in and through by conducting effective sales promotion activation and communication excellence for products in a timely manner

People & Talent Management (15%)


◇Provide strategic, inspirational, and visionary leadership to the HOKA marketing team
◇Develop and lead the team to be competent to execute towards to the objectives
◇Lead and implement the best practice with a focus on building the team with the best talent, talent development and succession planning
◇Engender a learning culture that focuses on providing learning opportunities for the team and new hire. Encourage ongoing learning and development to ensure high performance and high engagement

Customer experience (15%)


◇Develop a full understanding of the existing and target consumers to build successful future growth opportunities
◇Be fully responsible for providing brand excellence in every consumer touch points
3 【Education/Certifications】
◇University graduate in marketing or business

【Work Experience】
◇Over 5 years of marketing experience in running shoes, sports, fashion, bridge brands or retail industry
◇PR expertise and contacts in media network in Japan
◇Demonstrated experience in working across geographical boundaries
◇Experience working effectively in complex global organizations, satisfying the needs of diverse stakeholders, and often working under the pressure of competing and sometimes conflicting priorities

【Skills/Competencies】
◇Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Japanese
◇Proactive, uses initiatives and able to provide creative solutions whilst working within a given budget
◇Understanding of the value of marketing for brand awareness and positioning. Capable of recommending initiatives that have a return in investments
◇Insightful and knowledgeable of current product trends and aware of consumer buying behavior
◇Passion in brand building in a new environment with local and international teams
◇Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that enable to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
◇Result orientated and able to work under pressure and with tight deadlines
◇Hands-on, attention to details and capable of handling multiple tasks
◇Excellent planning, organizing and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify areas of improvement and solutions
◇Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, both locally and globally
◇Proficient in all Microsoft Applications
◇Ability to effectively prepare and present information, respond to questions from management, clients, and other employees of the organization.
4 【Work Environment】
・Super Flextime system
Super Flextime system allows employees to decide their start and end hours each day between 7:00-22:00 with the range of prescribed total working hours per month.
(e.g. 8h per day × 20 business days→ 160 hours work per month)
